I'm running for Justice of the Peace because our community deserves a court that is fair, efficient, welcoming, and guided by the law — where every person is heard, every case is impartial, and every decision reflects the law.

On the Bench

As Associate Judge for the Sugar Land Municipal Court, I apply the law fairly and treat everyone who comes before me with professionalism and respect.

In Practice

More than 14 years practicing law — licensed in Texas and New Jersey, admitted in Texas state and federal courts. As founder of the Law Office of Rachelle D. Carter, I've represented families in civil, criminal, and family matters. Before law, I taught English — where I learned to listen and communicate clearly.

Rooted in Fort Bend County

Home for more than 24 years. I'm the proud mother of two young women and a devoted pet mom to four rescue dogs. I've served as a Director of the Fort Bend County Bar Association, and I'm an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® and The Links, Incorporated.

What a Justice of the Peace does.

The Justice of the Peace court is where most people actually meet the justice system — for the everyday matters that affect families, renters, drivers, and small businesses. It should be the most accessible court of all.
